• In December 2011, Oozle CEO Travis Ashby came in 6th place in Utah Business’ FITTEST EXEC Program. All participants of this health and wellness competition performed a series of tests in body composition, vertical jump, agility, muscular strength, anaerobic endurance, aerobic fitness and flexibility. • Oozle Media will instruct nearly 10,000 individuals on How to Monetize Facebook at the 2012 Great Salt Lake Business Expo. The Great Salt Lake Business Expo is Utah’s premiere business-to-business event and features hundreds of Utah’s top businesses on exhibit, national keynotes and award luncheons, Exhibitor Connector Breakfast events, food from Utah’s Best of State restaurant winners, thousands of great connections and much more.
• Oozle Media works closely with local Universities to provide students with valuable internships and opportunities as they prepare to enter the work force. Oozle will also be conducting Social Media Workshops at Utah Valley University during the 2012 Fall Semester. Apply here: OOZLE INTERNSHIPS.
• In order to promote Utah’s young people, Oozle sponsored the 2011 and 2012 Skills USA web-design competitions by designing tasks for the students, answering USA web-design competitions by designing tasks for the students, answering questions, and judging the participants’ work. • In February, Oozle Media was contacted by the Utah Association for Career and Technical Education Conference to present to Web Development and IT Teachers on the importance of SEO at the UACTE Conference. The UACTE Conference is held every year in February in honor of National Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. Career and Technical Education aims to assist today’s students in exploring and preparing for tomorrow’s careers. The Conference supports this cause by inviting experts in a variety of fields, including internet marketing, to present on hot topics for the Web Development and IT teachers of the Salt Lake Valley. • Oozle’s new Refer-a-Friend App was nominated for The 2012 Utah Innovation Awards, the state’s first and premier innovation awards program, presented by Stoel Rives LLP and the Utah Technology Council. The App is designed to identify, reward, and generate new “brand advocates” for businesses of all sizes and industries. • Oozle’s Social Media department, Soappbox, is currently heading up the very successful Utah’s Most Admired Business Contest. The overall goal is to create brand awareness for Utah companies and grow their Facebook Business Page Fan Base. Learn more: Are You Utah’s Most Admired Business?
• As a leader of health, Travis Ashby inspired his staff to participate in the Dirty Dash’s June 2012 Corporate Cup, which is a 5K mud-based obstacle course and includes climbing walls, mud pits, and something called The Pig Pen, Hog Wash, and Slop ‘N Slide. Find out more: DIRTY OOZLERS!
• In 2011, Oozle Media masterminds, Travis Ashby and Scott Linford, created Half Price Utah, which is a lead generator and daily deal site for Oozle’s clientele. In less than nine months, Half Price Utah (HPU) has become a power house in Utah’s social media arena with over 77,000 active Facebook fans.
• In November of last year, Oozle teamed up with Make-a-Wish Foundation of Utah to help raise $10,000 for two children in need using Half Price Utah’s social media fan base.
• Caught up in the spirit of giving, Oozle Media delivered a handful of Zoobies Story Time Pillow Pets to the Road Home on Friday, December 23rd, 2011. The toys were originally donated to Oozle’s sister company, Half Price Utah, by Zoobies, a toy company created by two young brothers in Provo who shared a common desire to invent something fun, innovative and functional.
• Utah internet marketing experts from Oozle Media held a successful luncheon to speak about some of the most important strategies to finding success in online marketing. Key topics included the importance of local search engine optimization, ways to take advantage of social media, and Oozle Media’s new “Refer-a-Friend” app. Read what Utah Business Magazine had to say about the Event!
